New betting sponsors deals for English football clubs

English Premier League football clubs Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Burnley have both agreed new shirt sponsorship deals with Asian online gambling operators, while Championship side Birmingham City has partnered with Boylesports.

Wolverhampton is set to be sponsored by ManBetX which will see the gambling operator front all adult home shirts, covering the first-team, under-23 and adult disability teams. The long-term agreement has been named the largest in the club’s history and has been agreed ahead of a second successive Premier League campaign (7th place) and first appearance in European competition for 40 years.

Another Asian betting operator, LoveBet, has expanded its sponsorship portfolio by announcing a new partnership with Burnley FC. The Asian betting brand, which also announced a deal to become Paris St Germain’s Official Asian Betting Partner earlier in the year, has signed a three year deal with the Clarets. It will have its logo on all the club’s adult home and away shirts from this season. Next season will be Burnley’s fourth consecutive season in English football’s top division, following the side’s 15th place finish in 2018/2019 campaign.

Boylesports has agreed to a deal with Birmingham City to sponsor the Championship club until the end of the 2020-21 campaign. The deal, which is described as the club’s biggest shirt sponsorship deal in more than a decade, allows Boylesports logo to adorn the front of the men’s team playing kit and replica shirts. It was announced just a few days after the Irish operator acquired Midlands-based bookmaker Wilf Gilbert to establish a presence in the UK retail market for the first time.
