Scientific Games, the gambling and lottery solutions provider, and the Dutch State Lottery (Nederlandse Loterij), the largest gaming company in the country, have agreed to expand their partnership and launch a new digital sports betting solution in the Netherlands.
The extended partnership will see Scientific Games launch its OpenSports end-to-end sports wagering solution with the Netherlands’ state-run lottery operator. OpenSports will provide sports betting products to Dutch bettors across both desktop and mobile.

Expanding our partnership with Scientific Games will help us gain new players and keep our existing bettors engaged,” said Sam Depoortere, business director for Nederlandse Loterij.
“Our OpenSports solution is a natural fit for Nederlandse Loterij. We recognize the importance of transitioning from a sports technology provider to a full-service, end-to-end sportsbook partner,” added Keith O’Loughlin, senior vice president of sportsbook and platforms for SG Digital.
The Nederlandse Loterij, which was created in 2016 via the merger of De Lotto and the Dutch State Lottery, has been working with Scientific Games for several years now. The Lottery is under the control of the Dutch Ministry of Finance, and its proceeds are dedicated to the benefit of Sports and local charitable institutions.
Scientific Games provides game entertainment, technology and solutions to 150 lotteries in 50 countries around the world, including sports betting solutions to more than 30 lotteries across the US, Canada, Europe and Asia. Most recently, the company was selected as the preferred sports betting provider of Turkey’s regulated gambling market.
